  • Porsche cooling parts age out on a schedule, not just on miles. The plastic pieces get brittle with heat, so we keep an eye on the pipes, pump, and thermostat.

WHAT WE SEE ROLL IN ON PORSCHE

These are the issues we see most on Porsche vehicles here in the CSRA. Each one notes which models, engines, or years it actually affects, since not every Porsche has the same setup. Knowing the patterns means we diagnose faster and fix it right the first time.

  • Coolant transfer pipe failure

    Affects: V8 Cayenne (2003-2006)

    The number one Porsche problem we see. The plastic coolant transfer pipes that run through the engine valley crack and dump coolant. On the 2003 to 2006 V8 Cayennes this is catastrophic, and it was big enough that there was a class action over it. The real fix is upgrading to the aluminum pipes so it does not happen again.

  • Cooling system component failures

    Affects: V6 and V8 models

    Water pumps with the plastic impeller and the thermostats wear out and fail. We replace them with quality parts before an overheat turns into something worse.

  • Cylinder bore scoring and driveshaft bearing wear on early V8s

    Affects: Early V8 engines

    On the early V8 engines we also see cylinder bore scoring, plus a failing driveshaft or intermediate support bearing. These are bigger jobs, so we tell you straight what we find.
