Jeep Maintenance Notes
- Lifted and off-road Jeeps put extra wear on steering and front-axle parts, so those need checking more often.
- The Pentastar V6 likes to be watched on oil level, so don't skip checks between changes.
Common Jeep Problems
WHAT WE SEE ROLL IN ON JEEP
These are the issues we see most on Jeep vehicles here in the CSRA. Each one notes which models, engines, or years it actually affects, since not every Jeep has the same setup. Knowing the patterns means we diagnose faster and fix it right the first time.
Death wobble
Affects: Solid front axle (Wrangler, Gladiator)The number one Jeep complaint we get. It's a front-end steering oscillation on the solid front axle, usually felt as a violent shake through the wheel after you hit a bump at speed. We track down the worn steering and suspension parts causing it.
TIPM electrical failures on JK Wranglers
Affects: JK WranglerThe totally integrated power module is the brain for the electrical system, and on JK models it fails. That causes all kinds of odd electrical gremlins. We have the scan tools to read Jeep-specific codes and pin it down.
3.6L Pentastar oil consumption
Affects: 3.6L Pentastar V6The 3.6L Pentastar V6 can burn oil between changes, so you have to keep an eye on the level. We check it and tell you straight whether it's normal or something to address.
Why Choose C&C
THE RIGHT SHOP FOR YOUR JEEP
You are not at a dealer, but your Jeep gets dealer-level care here. The right scan tools, OEM or OE-quality parts, and ASE-certified techs, usually for less than the dealer charges.
We Know Your Jeep
Drivers around Augusta and Aiken bring us their Jeep every week, so we know the trouble spots these American vehicles are known for and fix them right the first time.
The Right Parts & Diagnostics
We use OEM or OE-quality parts. We have the scan tools to read Jeep-specific codes, so an electrical fault or a check engine light isn't an automatic dealer trip.
Straight, Honest Pricing
Jeep parts are reasonable and most repairs are straightforward for us. We come in under dealer rates and tell you what's urgent versus what can wait.
Backed In Writing
ASE-certified work, with most repairs backed by our 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty. The shop that did the work handles any warranty issue, and when you're away from home, coverage continues through the Certified Auto Repair Nationwide Warranty.
