What Is the Proper Tire Rotation Pattern for My Vehicle?
The proper pattern depends on a few factors, including whether your car is front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, or has directional or staggered tires. For most front-wheel-drive vehicles, a forward cross or X-pattern rotation works best, while rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive vehicles often use a rearward cross or X-pattern. Directional tires can only be rotated front to back on the same side, and staggered tires (when the front tires are a different size than the rear) may only be rotated side to side. The best way to know for sure is to check your owner's manual or let our technicians choose the right pattern.
